Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and form each into a half-pound patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 5

    Toast the Bread

While the patties are cooking, toast the Texas toast in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Layer the Toppings

On one slice of Texas toast, place the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar cheese, followed by the crispy bacon, onion rings, and drizzle BBQ sauce on top. Top with the second slice of Texas toast.
