Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Set Up the Wire Racks

Place the wire racks on a stable, heat-resistant surface where you intend to use the Sterno fuel. Ensure that they are positioned far enough apart to allow for safe access.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sterno Fuel

Open the Sterno fuel cans carefully. Make sure to keep the cans upright to prevent any spills. Place one can under each wire rack.

Cooking Instructions

  1. 3

    Ignite the Sterno Fuel

Using a long lighter or match, carefully ignite the Sterno fuel in each can. Ensure you are at a safe distance from the flame while igniting.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Cooking Surface

Cut a piece of aluminum foil large enough to cover the wire rack. This will act as a cooking surface. If desired, create small holes in the foil for drainage.

  3. 5

    Add Optional Enhancements

If using optional herbs or spices, sprinkle them over the aluminum foil before placing the food on top. This will infuse flavor while cooking.

  4. 6

    Place Food on the Rack

Arrange your food items (not included in the ingredients list) on top of the aluminum foil on the wire rack. Make sure not to overcrowd the food to ensure even cooking.

  5. 7

    Monitor Cooking

Keep an eye on the food as it cooks, adjusting the distance from the flame if necessary. Use tongs to flip or move food as needed.

  6. 8

    Extinguish the Flame

Once cooking is complete, carefully extinguish the flames in the Sterno cans by placing the lids back on them or by allowing them to burn out naturally.
