Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add garlic cloves and thyme to the skillet.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Making French Fries

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips. Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain and pat the potatoes dry with a clean towel to remove excess moisture.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the potatoes in batches and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt immediately.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 7

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic cloves and cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat.
