Preparation of the Fried Clam Strips

    Prepare the Clam Strips

    Rinse the fresh clam strips under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

    Set Up Breading Station

    In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, combine the cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

    Bread the Clam Strips

    Coat each clam strip first in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat in the cornmeal mixture. Set aside on a plate.

Cooking the Fried Clam Strips

    Heat the Oil

    In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

    Fry the Clam Strips

    Fry the clam strips in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Making the Coleslaw

    In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

    Toss everything together until the cabbage is well coated. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.

Preparing the French Fries

    Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips.

Making the Tartar Sauce

    In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, and salt to taste.
