Butter for Serving
Method
Preparing the Dough
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Stir until evenly mixed.
- 2
- 3
Knead the Dough
Using your hands or a stand mixer with a dough hook, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
- 5
Shape the Rolls
After the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Divide the dough into 20 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the balls in a greased baking dish, allowing some space between each.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the shaped rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes until they puff up.
- 7
Preheat the Oven
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Bake the Rolls
Once the rolls have risen, place them in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Serving
- 9
Prepare the Butter
While the rolls are baking, take the stick of unsalted butter out of the fridge to soften.
- 10
Serve
Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with the softened butter.
