Pastry Puff
Cocktail Franks
Method
Prepare the Pastry
- 1
Thaw Puff Pastry
Remove the puff pastry sheets from the freezer and let them thaw in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- 2
Roll Out Puff Pastry
Once thawed, lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- 3
Cut Pastry into Squares
Cut the rolled puff pastry into squares, approximately 3x3 inches, ensuring you have enough pieces for all the cocktail franks.
Assemble the Cocktail Franks
- 4
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 5
Wrap Cocktail Franks
Place one cocktail frank in the center of each puff pastry square. Fold the corners of the pastry over the frank and pinch to seal.
- 6
Apply Egg Wash
In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the egg wash over each wrapped frank to give them a golden color when baked.
Bake and Serve
- 7
Bake
Place the wrapped cocktail franks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
