Prepare Chicken

Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.
Assemble and Bake

Add Sauce and Cheese
Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Top each piece with sliced mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. If using fresh basil, sprinkle on top before serving.
