Ribs
Dry Rub
BBQ Sauce
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Remove the silver skin from the back of the baby back ribs and trim any excess fat.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme until well combined.
- 3
Season the Ribs
Generously rub the dry rub mixture all over the ribs, making sure to cover both sides evenly.
Cooking
- 4
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
- 5
Prepare the BBQ Sauce
While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until well mixed and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of aluminum foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.
- 7
Broil the Ribs
Turn on the broiler and place the ribs under it for about 5-7 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Watch closely to prevent burning.
Serving
- 8
Serve the Ribs
Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut between the bones and serve with remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
