Pork Marinade
Tofu Preparation
Stir-fry
Method
Marinating the Pork
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, five-spice powder, minced ginger, and minced garlic.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
Slice the pork tenderloin into thin strips. Add the pork to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Preparing the Tofu
- 3
Press the Tofu
Wrap the firm tofu in paper towels and press it gently to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- 4
Coat the Tofu
In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until they are evenly coated.
- 5
Fry the Tofu
In a wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove and set aside.
Stir-frying
- 6
Cook the Pork
In the same wok, add a little more oil if needed and increase the heat. Add the marinated pork strips and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are cooked through.
- 7
Add Vegetables
Add sliced bell pepper and onion to the pork, and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- 8
Combine with Tofu
Add the fried tofu to the wok along with the black bean sauce and stir to combine everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce coat all the ingredients.
- 9
Finish the Dish
Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry and toss to combine. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
