Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

2

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the yogurt and warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

3

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

4

Let the Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5

Divide and Shape

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.

6

Roll the Naan

On a floured surface, roll each ball into an oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.

7

Cook the Naan

Preheat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for about 2-3 minutes on one side or until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

8

Finish with Butter

Remove the naan from the skillet and brush with olive oil or melted butter before serving.
