Preparation Instructions

1

Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

2

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add yogurt, activated yeast mixture, and olive oil. Mix to form a soft dough.

3

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4

Let the Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

5

Shape the Naan

Once risen, punch the dough down and divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a teardrop or oval shape.

6

Cook the Naan

Preheat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for about 2-3 minutes on one side until bubbles form. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side.

7

Add Garlic

Optionally, brush the cooked naan with melted butter and sprinkle minced garlic or garlic powder for flavor.

8

Serve

Serve warm with your favorite curry or dip.
