Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Linguine

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 2

    Sauté Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 3

    Add Shrimp

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink.

  3. 4

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the cup of white wine, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly.

  4. 5

    Season

Season the shrimp scampi with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Toss Pasta

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss to combine until the pasta is well coated.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, with crusty bread or a side salad if desired.
