Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water
Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the fettuccine and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
Preparing the Shrimp

Cook the Shrimp
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Making the Alfredo Sauce

Add the Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally for about 2-3 minutes.

Incorporate the Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combining

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat well. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Add Shrimp
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together until heated through.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
