Vegan Soft-boiled Egg Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Tofu Mixture
In a bowl, crumble the firm tofu into small pieces. Add black salt, turmeric powder, soy sauce, and nutritional yeast. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Dissolve Agar-Agar
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Sprinkle agar-agar powder into the water while stirring constantly. Continue to stir until the agar-agar is completely dissolved.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the dissolved agar-agar mixture into the tofu mixture and stir until well combined. The mixture should be slightly thickened.
- 4
Mold the Mixture
Grease a small bowl or silicone egg mold with olive oil. Pour the tofu mixture into the mold, packing it down gently. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- 5
Chill to Set
Cover the mold with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the mixture is set and firm.
- 6
Serve
Once set, gently remove the vegan soft-boiled egg from the mold. Slice in half and serve as a topping for vegan ramen.
