Method
Wonton Preparation & Soup
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take one wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle together and seal them with a bit of water. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- 3
Prepare the Soup Base
In a pot, bring 4 cups of chicken or vegetable broth to a boil. You can also add sliced mushrooms or bok choy for more flavor.
- 4
Cook the Wontons
Once the broth is boiling, gently add the wontons. Allow them to cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top and are cooked through.
- 5
Serve the Soup
Ladle the wontons and broth into bowls. Garnish with additional chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
