Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water and gently scrub the shells. Shuck the oysters and place them on a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up the Breading Station

Prepare three shallow bowls. Place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, lightly beat the eggs in the second bowl, and place the panko breadcrumbs in the third bowl. Season the flour with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Oysters

Coat each oyster in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. 4

    Fry the Oysters

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded oysters in batches, frying them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried oysters and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with tonkatsu sauce and lemon wedges.
