Directions
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- 3
Coat the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Then roll them in bread crumbs until well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the crispy onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
