Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- 2
Assemble the Shumai
Take a shumai wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Gather the edges of the wrapper and pinch to form a cup, leaving the top open.
- 3
Steam the Shumai
Line a steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Place the shumai in the steamer, ensuring they are not touching. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.

Serve
Remove the shumai from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or chili sauce for dipping.
