Prepare the Fish
Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Create the Breading Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge in the breading mixture until fully coated.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove the fried fish from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
