Prepare the Bread
Butter one side of each slice of bread. This will help achieve a golden, crispy texture when grilled.

Assemble the Sandwich
Place one slice of bread butter-side down onto a skillet. Layer the Swiss cheese on top, sprinkle with black pepper and garlic powder, and add mustard if desired. Top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.

Grill the Sandwich
Heat the skillet over medium heat. Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then carefully flip and grill the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and both sides are crispy.
