Fajitas

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Meat

In a bowl, combine the steak or chicken with the fajita sauce. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onion and green bell pepper into thin strips.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meat

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the meat from the marinade (discard the marinade) and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side for steak or chicken. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and green peppers. Sauté until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-6 minutes.

  5. 5

    Slice the Meat

Once the meat has rested, slice it into thin strips against the grain.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the sliced meat over the sautéed onions and peppers. Accompany with pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, Spanish rice, refried beans, and warm tortillas.
