Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornstarch with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, coating thoroughly. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the chicken is frying, toast the burger buns on a skillet or in the oven until golden brown.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place the fried chicken on top, followed by lettuce, pickles, and a drizzle of hot sauce. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
