Method
Preparing the French Toast
- 1
Whisk the Egg Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- 2
Prepare the Bread
Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture for about 30 seconds on each side, allowing it to absorb the mixture.
- 3
Cook the French Toast
In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Cook the soaked bread slices for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining bread, adding more butter as needed.
- 4
Add Dulce de Leche
Spread a generous layer of dulce de leche on each slice of French toast before serving.
Macerating the Berries
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the mixed berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently to combine.
- 6
Let Sit
Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes to let the juices develop and the sugar dissolve.
Toasting the Pecans
- 7
Toast the Pecans
In a small skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped pecans and toast for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant.
