Method
Preparing the Chocolate Avocado Mousse
- 1
Blend the Ingredients
In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no avocado lumps, and the mixture is well combined.
- 2
Taste and Adjust
Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more maple syrup. Blend again if you add any sweetener.
- 3
Chill the Mousse
Transfer the mousse into a bowl or individual serving cups and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up slightly.
Preparing the Macerated Berries
- 4
Prepare the Berries
Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull the strawberries and slice them if they are large.
- 5
Macerate the Berries
In a bowl, combine the prepared strawberries and blueberries with maple syrup and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the berries and let them sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the berries to release their juices.
Assembling the Dish
- 6
Layer the Mousse and Berries
In serving glasses, layer the chocolate avocado mousse at the bottom, followed by a layer of macerated berries. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, finishing with a layer of berries on top.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy your delicious vegan chocolate avocado mousse with macerated berries!
