Method

Preparation

1

Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Frangelico Liqueur, and Creme de Cocoa. Stir well until fully combined.

2

Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, mix together the crushed vanilla wafers, powdered sugar, chopped pecans, and cocoa powder until evenly distributed.

3

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a thick dough forms. If the mixture is too crumbly, add a splash more bourbon or liqueur.

Shaping and Coating

4

Shape the Balls

Using your hands, take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball about 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5

Chill the Balls

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up the bourbon balls.

6

Melt Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

7

Coat the Balls

Remove the chilled bourbon balls from the refrigerator. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated, then return to the baking sheet.

8

Set the Coating

Once all balls are coated, refrigerate again for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
