Ingredients for Kuntry-Fried Steak

Method

Directions for Kuntry-Fried Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Pound the beef round steak to about 1/2 inch thickness. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.

  2. 2

    Bread the Steak

Dip each steak piece into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated.

  3. 3

    Fry the Steak

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded steak pieces and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Make the Gravy

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add 4 tablespoons of flour to the remaining oil in the skillet, whisking constantly for about 1-2 minutes until the flour is golden brown. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the fried steak hot with the creamy gravy poured over the top. Enjoy!
