Method

Prepare the Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Seasoning the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs, ensuring an even coating.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 3

    Cooking in the Oven

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  2. 4

    Applying BBQ Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C). Uncover the ribs, brush them generously with BBQ sauce, and return them to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes until caramelized.

Prepare the Sides

  1. 5

    Making Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and your favorite coleslaw dressing. Toss until well coated and set aside to let the flavors meld.

  2. 6

    Baking Cornbread

Prepare cornbread according to package instructions or your favorite recipe. Bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plating the Dish

Slice the rack of ribs into individual portions and serve with a side of coleslaw and cornbread. Drizzle additional BBQ sauce on the ribs if desired.
