Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks.
- 2
Season the Pork
In a bowl, mix together paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork pieces.
- 3
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Combine in Slow Cooker
Transfer the sautéed onion and garlic to a slow cooker. Add the seasoned pork, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
- 5
Cook the Pork
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
Assembling the Sliders
- 6
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the cooker and mix it with the sauce.
- 7
- 8
Assemble the Sliders
Place a generous amount of pulled pork on the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with coleslaw if using, and cover with the top half of the bun.
- 9
Serve
Serve the pulled pork sliders warm and enjoy!
