Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Preheat your grill or oven to 150°C (300°F). Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the ribs with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Prepare the BBQ Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 3

    Marinate the Ribs

Spread a generous amount of the BBQ sauce over both sides of the seasoned ribs. Reserve some sauce for later basting. Let the ribs marinate for at least 30 minutes; for best results, marinate in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribs

Place the marinated ribs on the grill or in the oven. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting with reserved BBQ sauce every 30 minutes, until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.

  3. 5

    Finish the Ribs

For a caramelized finish, increase the heat to 200°C (400°F) for the last 15 minutes of cooking, basting one final time with BBQ sauce.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill or oven, let them rest for 10 minutes, then slice between the bones. Serve hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
