Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Brisket

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the brisket. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook the brisket for about 15-20 minutes on each side, or until tender. Remove from heat and let it rest.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Thinly slice the onion and bell pepper. Add them to the skillet over medium heat and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until they are soft and slightly caramelized.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the vegetables are cooking, slice the Kaiser buns in half and lightly toast them on a skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Combine and Melt

Thinly slice the cooked brisket and layer it on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with the sautéed onions and peppers, then place two slices of provolone cheese on top of each. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Return the assembled sandwiches to the skillet and cover with a lid. Cook on low heat for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Sandwiches

Carefully remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Cut in half if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy your Philly Cheese Que Sandwich!
