Method
Filling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Peaches
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash and slice the fresh peaches, removing the pits. Place the sliced peaches into a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix the Filling
Add the granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the peaches. Toss gently until the peaches are well coated with the mixture.
- 3
Transfer to Baking Dish
Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Cobbler Topping Preparation
- 4
Make the Topping Batter
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 5
Add Milk and Butter
Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour the melted butter and milk into the dry ingredient mixture. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- 6
Spread Topping Over Peaches
Carefully pour the cobbler topping batter over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not stir; let the batter spread naturally over the peaches.
Baking
- 7
Bake the Cobbler
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
- 8
Serve with Ice Cream
Remove the peach cobbler from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream on top.
