Method

Pastrami Sandwich Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients for the sandwich including pastrami, rye bread, Swiss cheese, Dijon mustard, pickles, and butter.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of rye bread. Layer pastrami on one slice, followed by Swiss cheese and pickles. Top with the second slice of bread, mustard side down.

  3. 3

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Melt butter in the skillet and place the sandwich in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  4. 4

    Slice and Serve

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve hot.

    Choose Your Side Dish

Select one of the following side dishes: French fries, cornbread, onion rings, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, green salad, green beans, mac & cheese, or pig candy.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Side Dish

Depending on your choice, prepare the side dish as follows: fry the French fries until golden, bake cornbread according to package directions, deep fry onion rings, serve cole slaw chilled, mix potato salad, heat baked beans, toss green salad with dressing, steam green beans, bake mac & cheese, or serve pig candy as is.

  3. 7

    Serve the Meal

Place the prepared side dish on a plate alongside the pastrami sandwich and enjoy your meal.
