Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, approximately ½ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grill or Pan-Fry

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the grill or skillet to help melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top, then add ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 7

    Choose Your Sides

Select your desired sides from fries, cornbread, onion rings, mixed green salad, or pig candy.

  2. 8

    Cook/Serve the Sides

Prepare the sides according to package instructions or your preferred method. Serve alongside the Griz Burger.
