Preparation
- 1
Trim the Green Beans
Rinse the green beans under cold water. Trim the ends of the green beans using a sharp knife.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Green Beans
In the same skillet with the reserved bacon grease, add the green beans. Sauté over medium heat for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.
- 4
Season the Green Beans
Add salt and black pepper to the green beans. Stir well to coat the beans evenly.
- 5
Finish Cooking
Continue to sauté the green beans for another 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. If needed, add a tablespoon of olive oil to help with cooking.
Serving
- 6
Combine and Serve
Once the green beans are cooked, remove them from heat. Top with the crispy bacon bits and serve warm.
