Method
Prepare the Brisket
- 1
Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the beef brisket, ensuring it's evenly coated.
- 2
Cook the Brisket
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 4 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
- 3
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Assemble the Sandwich
- 4
Slice the Brisket
Using a sharp knife, slice the brisket against the grain into thin pieces.
- 5
Prepare the Buns
Lightly toast the buns if desired. Place a generous amount of sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top the brisket with BBQ sauce, sliced pickles, and coleslaw if using. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bun.
