Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork ribs.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low cooking temperature will help render the fat and make the ribs tender.

  3. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

  4. 4

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and brush generously with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.

Preparing the Side Dish

  1. 5

    For Fries

If using frozen fries, cook according to package instructions. For homemade fries, cut potatoes into strips, toss with oil, salt, and pepper, and bake in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  2. 6

    For Cornbread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a mixing bowl, combine cornbread mix, milk, and melted butter. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
