Dough Preparation
- 1
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually. Knead the dough until smooth, about 10 minutes. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembly and Baking
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 3
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a round shape on a floured surface.
- 4
Assemble the Pie
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface. Tear mozzarella into pieces and distribute over the sauce. Sprinkle minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and drizzle olive oil on top.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 6
Add Fresh Basil
Remove the pie from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves. Let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
