Directions
- 1
Prepare the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 2
Cook the Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth. Steam for about 30-35 minutes until the rice is tender.
- 3
Make the Coconut Sauce
In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Do not let it boil.
- 4
Combine Rice and Coconut Sauce
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour half of the coconut sauce over the rice. Mix well and let it sit for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 5
Prepare the Mango
Peel the ripe mangoes and slice them into thin strips.
- 6
Serve
To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with fresh mango slices, and drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
