Directions
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Prepare Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape Rolls
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking pan.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.
- 7
Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- 8
Cool
Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
