Hanger Steak and accompaniments

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Hanger Steak

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the hanger steak with salt and black pepper. Once the skillet is hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from the skillet and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  2. 2

Make the Turnip & Butternut Hash

In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the diced turnips and butternut squash. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 10-15 minutes until both vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.

  3. 3

    Plate the Dish

Slice the hanger steak against the grain. Serve the steak on a plate with a generous helping of turnip and butternut hash. Drizzle chimichurri sauce over the steak and finish with a spoonful of sweet ancho chili paste.
