Pickles and Slaw

Assembly

Method

Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Whisk until smooth.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

Dip the chicken breasts into the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Then, in a separate bowl, mix the flour and cornstarch together. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken breasts. Fry for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Hot Honey Sauce

  1. 4

    Make the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan, combine honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over low heat until warm and well combined. Set aside.

Pickles and Slaw

  1. 5

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

To assemble, spread a generous amount of hot honey sauce on the bottom half of the brioche bun. Place the fried chicken breast on top, followed by a layer of slaw and dill pickles. Finish with the top half of the bun.
