Preparation of Cod

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cod

Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate

In a small bowl, mix olive oil and lemon juice. Brush this mixture onto the cod fillets, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.

Cooking the Cod

  1. 3

    Broiling Method

Preheat the broiler in your oven. Place the marinated cod on a broiler pan and broil for about 4-6 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

  2. 4

    Pan-Frying Method

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil. Once hot, add the cod fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Preparation of Starch

  1. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add rice and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18 minutes until rice is tender and water is absorbed. Stir in butter before serving.

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 6

    Prepare the Asparagus

Wash the asparagus and trim off the tough ends. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Asparagus

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add asparagus and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with salt.
