Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Oven and Dish
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Mix the Cream and Seasonings
In a bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
Layer the Ingredients
Arrange a layer of potato slices in the greased baking dish. Pour a portion of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat this layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
Bake the Gratin
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Cool and Serve
Let the gratin cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the cheesy, creamy layers!
