Method

Prepare the Wasabi Aioli

  1. 1

    Mix the Aioli

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Mix well until smooth. Set aside.

Prepare the Ahi

  1. 2

    Dipping and Coating

Dip one side of each Ahi steak in wasabi shoyu sauce. Press the coated side into the furikake until well covered.

  2. 3

    Searing the Ahi

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the Ahi steaks for about 2 minutes on the furikake side until golden, then flip and sear the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes. The center should remain rare.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Build the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, sliced tomato, and onion. Place the seared Ahi steak on top, then spread a generous amount of wasabi aioli. Top with the other half of the bun.

Prepare the French Fries

  1. 5

    Cook the Fries

Prepare the frozen french fries according to package instructions, typically baking or frying until crispy.
