Method

Fried Calamari Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Calamari

Tenderize the calamari steak by pounding it gently with a meat mallet. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Breading Setup

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for panko breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Calamari

Dredge the seasoned calamari steak in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. 4

    Fry the Calamari

In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded calamari steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Garlic Butter Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Serve the crispy calamari steak topped with garlic butter sauce alongside rice or french fries, toss salad, and corn.
