Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna Salad

In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Take two slices of sourdough bread and spread a layer of the tuna salad on each slice. Place a slice of American cheese on top of the tuna salad on both slices. Top with the remaining two slices of sourdough bread to form two sandwiches.

  3. 3

    Grill the Sandwiches

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, place the sandwiches in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  4. 4

    Serve

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, cut in half if desired, and serve hot.
