Method
Fish Fry Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth. Add the shredded cabbage and toss until evenly coated. Refrigerate while preparing the fish.
- 2
Prepare the Fish Batter
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the beer, whisking until smooth and well combined.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Fries
While the fish is frying, cook the frozen fries according to package instructions until crispy.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried fish, fries, and coleslaw. Enjoy your delicious fish fry!
