Lasagna Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until onion is translucent.

  2. 2

    Brown the Beef

Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain excess fat.

  3. 3

    Add Tomato Sauce

Stir in tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Meanwhile, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, then half of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of meat sauce, and a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat this process, finishing with noodles and the remaining meat sauce on top.

  7. 7

    Top with Cheese

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

  8. 8

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. 9

    Let it Rest

Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
