French Dip Sandwich

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Aj Jus Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in beef broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and mushrooms, sautéing until soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Slice the French rolls or baguettes in half. Layer each with a portion of the sautéed mushrooms and onions, followed by the thinly sliced roast beef. Top with Swiss cheese.

  4. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the sandwiches hot with a side of fresh cut fries and the warm Aj Jus sauce for dipping.
