Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the fettuccine pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain and Set Aside
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water for later use.
Chicken Preparation
- 3
Season the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through and juices run clear. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 5
- 6
Add Cream and Cheese
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 7
Season the Sauce
Add a pinch of nutmeg and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining Ingredients
- 8
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
- 9
Serve
Plate the creamy fettuccine Alfredo and top with sliced grilled chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese as desired.
